Account and security
Your account settings live under Account. This page covers your profile, two-factor sign-in, connected apps and keyboard shortcuts.
Open your account
Section titled “Open your account”Choose Account at the top of the page. It opens Security. The side navigation has four sections: Profile, Security, Time and Notifications.
Time settings are in Time. Notification settings are in Collaboration.
Profile
Section titled “Profile”Open Profile. It has these cards:
- Avatar is shown next to your name. Choose Upload, or Change if you have one. Remove avatar deletes it.
- Name is how you appear to your teammates. Edit First name and Last name, then choose Save.
- Region sets your Timezone and Locale, which controls how dates and numbers look. A line shows an example. Choose Save.
- Work profile holds your Job title, Phone, Bio and working hours. Each field has a Visible to choice: Only me or People in my orgs.
- Email shows the address you sign in with and whether it is Verified. Choose Change email, enter a New email address and choose Send confirmation. The change takes effect when you follow the link in the email.
- Export my data downloads your profile, memberships, tasks, time entries and account history as one JSON file.
- Danger zone has Deactivate account. Deactivating signs you out everywhere. Signing in again with your password reactivates the account. You type your email to confirm. If you own an organization or lead a team, hand that over first.
Password
Section titled “Password”This version of Lykert has no way to change your password from inside the app. Your password is used to sign in and to confirm it’s you; the app has no Change password option.
Two-factor sign-in
Section titled “Two-factor sign-in”Open Security. The Authenticator app card adds a second sign-in step, known as two-factor authentication, 2FA or MFA, from an app such as 1Password, Authy or Google Authenticator.
Turn it on
Section titled “Turn it on”- Choose Enable authenticator app.
- If you have not entered your password recently, Lykert asks for it first. See Confirm it’s you.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you cannot scan, choose Copy key and enter the key by hand.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and choose Confirm.
Turning two-factor on signs you out of your other devices.
Save your recovery codes
Section titled “Save your recovery codes”After you confirm, Lykert shows Save your recovery codes. Each code, which some services call a backup code, works once if you lose your authenticator. They are shown only now. Choose Copy codes or Download, store them somewhere safe, then check I saved these codes and choose Done. If you try to leave before saving them, Lykert warns you.
When you sign in with two-factor on, you enter an Authenticator code. If you lost your authenticator, choose Use a recovery code instead.
The card shows Recovery codes remaining. When two or fewer are left it tells you to regenerate them. Choose Regenerate recovery codes to get a new set. The old codes stop working.
Turn it off
Section titled “Turn it off”Choose Disable authenticator app and confirm. This removes the second sign-in step and signs you out of your other devices.
Confirm it’s you
Section titled “Confirm it’s you”Some actions ask you to prove it is you again. A Confirm it’s you window opens before:
- Change email (Send confirmation).
- Export my data.
- Deactivate account.
- Enable authenticator app, when you have not entered your password recently. Only your password is accepted for this one.
- Disable authenticator app.
- Regenerate recovery codes.
- Allowing an app on the Authorize access page.
- Sending a password reset to a member of your organization, from the organization’s members settings.
In the window, enter an authenticator code, your password or a recovery code. You can switch between them with the links in the window. Choose Confirm to continue, or cancel to stop.
Connected apps
Section titled “Connected apps”Other apps can ask to use your Lykert account. When one does, the Authorize access page names the app and shows what it asks for. You pick the Organization it acts for and an Access level, then choose Allow or Deny. The page can ask you to confirm it’s you first. See Time for how this works with your time.
Access levels are described in plain words, such as Read projects and tasks, Create and update tasks and Track and edit your time in this organization.
The Connected apps card on Security lists the apps you have allowed. Each row shows the organization, the access it has, when you connected it and when it was last used. Choose Revoke, then Confirm revoke. Revoking signs the app out right away. When nothing is connected the card says No connected apps.
Sign out
Section titled “Sign out”Open the command palette with ⌘K or Ctrl K and choose Sign out. Some apps call this log out or logout.
Keyboard shortcuts
Section titled “Keyboard shortcuts”These keyboard shortcuts, sometimes called hotkeys, work in the web app. Press ? anywhere to see every shortcut. Press ⌘K or Ctrl K to open the command palette. Press [ to collapse or expand the sidebar.
To change how the keyboard works, open Settings in the sidebar, then Keyboard. Under Keybinding mode, pick one:
